Scholarship Recipients
The West Point Community Foundation has selected the recipients of 32 scholarships awarded to members of the Class of 2020 totaling $26,000.

Kelsey Larsen, parents are Gregg and Laura Murphy of Walthill, is a graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School. Kelsey plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Physical Therapy.

Brooke Meister, parents are Steve and Donna Meister of West Point, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Brooke plans to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University and pursue a degree in Business Administration.

Jamie Pierce, parents are Lynn and Maggie Pierce of West Point, is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Jamie plans to attend the University of Nebraska Kearney and pursue a degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Tyra Bonneau, parents are Barry and Lauri Bonneau of Bancroft, Tyra is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie High School. Tyra plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in ObstetricNursing.

Kylee Horst, parent is Kassidy Horst of Wisner, is a graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School. Kylee plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Elementary Education.

MaKenna Rolf, parents are Mike and Pam Rolf of West Point, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. MaKenna plans to attend the University of Nebraska Kearney and pursue a degree in Neuropsychologist.

Luke Kramer, parents are Troy and Tara Kramer of Rosalie, is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie High School. Luke plans to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln and pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering

Elizabeth Karnopp, parents are Dave and Shannon Karnopp of West Point, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Elizabeth plans to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln and pursue a degree in pharmacy.

Axcele Biteghe, parents are Christina Biteghe Bi-ndong of West Point, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Axcele plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Linguistics.

Braxton Bargmann, parents are Dusti Storm of Lyons, is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie High School. Braxton plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Mechanical Drafting.

Casey Doernemann, parents are Jim and Lynda Doernemann of Dodge, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Casey plans to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln and pursue a degree in Agribusiness Sales.

Hailey Jo Hakel, parents are Dan and Jill Hakel of West Point, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Hailey plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Neonatal Nursing.

Parker Uhing, parents are Kevin and Lisa Uhing of West Point, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parker plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Diversified Ag.

Matthew Rolf, parents are Brian and Jeannette Rolf of West Point, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Matthew plans to attend Southeast Community College and pursue a degree in Diversified Ag.

Aaron Disher, parents are David and Jodi Disher of West Point, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Aaron plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Building Construction.

Hanna Knobbe, parents are Melissa Knobbe and the late Chris Knobbe of West Point, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Hanna plans to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln and pursue a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Zoey Kreikemeier, parents are Todd and Heather Kreikemeier of West Point, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Zoey plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Graphic Design.

William Gatzemeyer, parents are Todd and Michelle Gatzemeyer of Bancroft, is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie High School. William plans to attend Southeast Community College and pursue a degree in Business.

The Russ Herman Memorial Scholarship ($500)
The applicant must be seeking continued education at a university, college, or technical school pursuing a degree in the field of journalism. Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Scholarship value is $500.00. The Russ Herman Memorial Journalism Scholarship was created with funds from the Russ Herman Estate; Herman was a long-time journalist and radio announcer in the West Point Community.

Damon Crawford, parents are R. Scott and Caroline Crawford of Scribner, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Damon plans to attend Regent University and pursue a degree in Communication Studies.

Allison Roeber Memorial Scholarship($500)
Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point Area High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking continued education at a university, college, or technical school of applicant’s choice and pursuing a degree in the field of Child Protection.

Each scholarship has a value of $500. Seven scholarships were awarded. The Allison Roeber Scholarships are endowed with money from the Allison Pathway Fund and the Lester Fuhrman Estate. The scholarships are designed to help further area students’ education in a field of study that will be benefiting or helping children.

Adam Reeson, parents are Mike and Rhonda Reeson of West Point, is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Adam plans to attend Marquette University and pursue a degree in Pre-Med.

Lindberg Northeast Community College Scholarship ($500)
Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking continued education at Northeast Community College as a full-time student. Scholarship value is $500.00.

Gwen F. Kaup Memorial Scholarship ($1000)
The applicant must be seeking continued education through a certificate program, trade school, college or university. Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point-Beemer Junior-Senior High School. Scholarship value is $1000.00. The Gwen F. Kaup Memorial Scholarship was created with funds from her family. Gwen was a 1975 graduate of West Point High School and worked in the West Point Community.

Jorge Ibarra, parents are Maria Ibarra Magana of West Point, is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Jorge plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Automotive Programing.
Butterfly Angels for Education ($500)
The applicant must be seeking continued education through a certificate program, trade school, college, or university. Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point High School. Scholarship value is $500.00. One each will be awarded to a graduating senior from Guardian Angels Central Catholic and West Point-Beemer Junior-Senior High School. Butterfly Angels Scholarships were created in memory of Lola Persson (mother) and Gwen Kaup (daughter) who both lived and worked in the West Point Community.
