Scholarship Recipients
The West Point Community Foundation has selected the recipients of 31 scholarships awarded to members of the Class of 2023 totaling $25,000.
Meg Anderson is the daughter of Willy and Kim Anderson of Dodge and is a graduate of West Point Beemer High School. Meg plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and pursue a degree in Animal Science/Veterinary Medicine.
Kyra Bargmann is the daughter of Dusti Storm of Bancroft and is a graduate of Bancroft-Rosalie Community Schools. Kyra plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Elementary Education.
Delaney Boyer is the daughter of Chad and Brooke Boyer of Pilger and is a graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School. Delaney plans to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln and pursue a degree in Dietetics.
Morgan Compton Pagels is the daughter of Michelle Castor of Decatur and is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie Community Schools. Morgan plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Dental Hygiene.
Nickolas Daberkow is the son of Kelly Daberkow of West Point and is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Nickolas plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and pursue a degree in Landscape Design
Avin Dean is the son of Vernon and Dwan Dean of Lyons and is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie Community Schools. Avin plans to attend the Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Entrepreneurship/Business.
Olivia Gross is the daughter of Doug and Stacy Gross of West Point and is a graduate of West Point Beemer High School. Olivia plans to attend Concordia University and pursue a degree in Dentistry.
Isabel Hass is the daughter of Brian and Julie Hass of West Point and is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic High School. Isabel plans to attend the Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Physical Therapy.
Sydney Hutchinson is the daughter of Chris and Christine Hutchinson of West Point and is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Sydney plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and pursue a degree in Animal Science/Veterinary Medicine.
Laura Kinnison is the daughter of Daren and Dana Kinnison of Wisner and is a graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School. Laura plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Nursing.
Austin Kluthe is the son of A.J. and Alison Kluthe of Pilger and is a graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School. Austin plans to attend the Nebraska Methodist College and pursue a degree in Radiologic Technology.
Gavin Kreikemeier is the son of Todd and Leslie Kreikemier of West Point and is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Gavin plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and pursue a degree in Wildlife Management & Fisheries.
Josephine Moyer is the daughter of Chad and Alicia Moyer of Beemer and is a graduate of West Point Beemer High School. Saige plans to attend the University of Nebraska- Omaha and pursue a degree in Marketing & Business.
Alix Nolting is the daughter of Cletus and Joy Nolting of Bancroft and is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie Community Schools. Alix plans to attend the Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Education.
Kiley Pojar is the daughter of Brian and Kim Pojar of Dodge and is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Kiley plans to attend Bryan College of Health Sciences and pursue a degree in Nursing.
Haylee Popken is the daughter of Randy and Gena Popken of West Point and is a graduate of West Point Beemer High School. Haylee plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Nursing.
Gracie Slaughter is the daughter of Bradly and Marla Slaughter of Rosalie and is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie Community Schools. Gracie plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Veterinary Technician Sciences.
Karl Steinmeyer is the son of Russell R and Amy L Steinmeyer of Wisner and is a graduate of Wisner Pilger High School. Karl plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Diesel Agriculture
Treven Weddle is the son of DJ and Melissa Weddle of West Point and is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Treven plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Nicole Parker is the daughter of Danielle Lierman of Beemer and is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Nicole plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Elementary Education.
Special Education ARC – Elkhorn Valley Scholarship
Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a Cuming County High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking to obtain a certificate of program completion, an associate degree from an accredited junior college, or attend an accredited college or university of their choice.
Allison Roeber Memorial Scholarship($500)
Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point Area High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking continued education at a university, college, or technical school of applicant’s choice and pursuing a degree in the field of Child Protection.

Each scholarship has a value of $500. Seven scholarships were awarded. The Allison Roeber Scholarships are endowed with money from the Allison Pathway Fund and the Lester Fuhrman Estate. The scholarships are designed to help further area students’ education in a field of study that will be benefiting or helping children.
Helena Steffensmeier is the daughter of Ryan and Charissa Steffensmeier of West Point and is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic High School. Helena plans to attend Benedictine College and pursue a degree in Elementary & Special Education.
Amber Kreikemeier is the daughter of Jay and Denise Kreikemeier of West Point and is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic High School. Amber plans to attend the University of South Dakota and pursue a degree in Occupational Therapy.
Jayden Ehrisman is the daughter of Mitch and Danelle Ehrisman of West Point and is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic High School. Jayden plans to attend the University of South Dakota and pursue a degree in Pre-Medicine/OB-GYN.
Joseph Schwer is the son of Steve and Tracy Schwer of West Point and is a graduate of West Point Beemer High School. Joseph plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and pursue a degree in Pre-medicine/Physician.
Emerson Ortmeier is the daughter of Chad and Becky Ortmeier of Dodge and is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Emerson plans to attend the University of South Dakota and pursue a degree in Dentistry.

Cloe Mandel is the daughter of Christopher and Stephanie Mandel of West Point and is a graduate of West Point Beemer High School. Cloe plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Elementary Education.
Lindberg Northeast Community College Scholarship ($500)
Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking continued education at Northeast Community College as a full-time student. Scholarship value is $500.00.
Carter Nebuda is the son of Patrick and Janelle Nebuda of West Point and is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Carter plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Building Construction
The Russ Herman Memorial Journalism Scholarship
Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking continued education at a university, college, or technical school of applicant's choice and pursing a degree in the field of Journalism.
