Endowed Scholarships

The six named scholarships are offered to area students annually. Scholarship application packets have been provided to the schools for students to complete. To assist applicants in obtaining the application packets, including instructions, just click on the named scholarship below.

ARC – Elkhorn Valley Scholarship for a Graduating Senior Seeking a Degree including a Special Education Endorsement

The applicant must plan on obtaining a college degree which includes a Special Education Endorsement and must be a successful graduate of a Cuming County High School. Click HERE for the application.

ARC – Elkhorn Valley Scholarship for a Graduating Senior Seeking an Associate Degree

The applicant must plan on obtaining a certificate in a trade or an Associate Degree from an accredited junior college, college or university, and must be a successful graduate of a Cuming County High School with at least part of the student’s class attendance being in the form of special education, or resource room classes.  In addition, the student MUST have a current IEP in place. The Russ Herman Memorial Scholarship

The applicant must be seeking continued education at a university, college, or technical school pursuing a degree in the field of journalism.  Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Scholarship value is $500.00. The Russ Herman Memorial Journalism Scholarship was created with funds from the Russ Herman Estate; Herman was a long-time journalist and radio announcer in the West Point Community. Lindberg Northeast Community College Scholarship

Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking continued education at Northeast Community College as a full-time student. Scholarship value is $500.00. Click HERE for the application.

The Allison Roeber Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point Area High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking continued education at a university, college, or technical school of applicant’s choice and pursuing a degree in the field of Child Protection.

  1. Health Care
  2. Law Enforcement
  3. Social Work
  4. Elementary Teacher
  5. Any other child protection education

Each scholarship has a value of $500.  Five scholarships are awarded.  The Allison Roeber Scholarships are endowed with money from the Allison Pathway Fund and the Lester Fuhrman Estate.  The scholarships are designed to help further area students’ education in a field of study that will be benefiting or helping children. The Butterfly Angels Scholarship

The applicant must be seeking continued education through a certificate program, trade school, college, or university. Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point High School. Scholarship value is $500.00. One each will be awarded to a graduating senior from Guardian Angels Central Catholic and West Point-Beemer Junior-Senior High School. Butterfly Angels Scholarships were created in memory of Lola Persson (mother) and Gwen Kaup (daughter) who both lived and worked in the West Point Community.

The Gwen F. Kaup Memorial Scholarship

The applicant must be seeking continued education through a certificate program, trade school, college or university.  Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point-Beemer Junior-Senior High School. Scholarship value is $1000.00. The Gwen F. Kaup Memorial Scholarship was created with funds from her family. Gwen was a 1975 graduate of West Point High School and worked in the West Point Community.
