Scholarship Recipients

The West Point Community Foundation has selected the recipients of 29 scholarships awarded to members of the Class of 2025.

Henry A. Stalp and Ramona F. Stalp Scholarship ($1000)

Landon Bonneau is a graduate of Bancroft-Rosalie Community Schools. Parents are Dawn Bonneau of
Bancroft. Landon plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Marketing.
Leah Clark is a graduate of Bancroft-Rosalie Community Schools. Parents are Keri Andersen of Decatur.
Leah plans to attend Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture and pursue a degree in Equine Science.
Luke Hagedorn is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents are Dan & Lana Hagedorn of
West Point. Luke plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Building
Construction.
Grace Hunzeker is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents are Josh & Alice Hunzeker
of West Point. Grace plans to attend Southeast Community College and pursue a degree in Culinary Arts.
Addison James is a graduate of Bancroft-Rosalie Community Schools. Parents are Adam & Rebecca
James of Bancroft. Addison plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in PreChiropractic.
Makenna James is a graduate of Bancroft-Rosalie Community Schools. Parents are Adam & Rebecca
James of Bancroft. Makenna plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in
Nursing.
Brooklyn Steffen is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents are Kyle and Kimberly
Steffen of West Point. Brooklyn plans to attend University of Nebraska Lincoln and pursue a degree in
Animal Science.
Haley Kneifl is a graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School. Parents are Sid Kneifl & Heather Kneifl of
Pilger. Haley plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Business Administration.
Campbell Knutzen-Snodgrass is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents are Alan &
Holly Snodgrass of West Point. Campbell plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in
Biology/Dentistry.
Lillian Leathers is a graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School. Parents are Toni Leathers of Wisner. Lillian
plans to attend University of Nebraska-Kearney and pursue a degree in Communication Disorders.
Gabe Liermann is a graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School. Parents are Elliot & Jaimy Liermann of
Wisner. Gabe plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Mechanized
Agriculture.
Diego Oñate is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents are Jesus Oñate & Maria Oñate
of West Point. Diego plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Nursing.
Walker Ott is a graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School. Parents are Adam & Tiffani Ott of Wisner. Walker
plans to attend Midland University and pursue a degree in Agribusiness.
Sydney Porter is a graduate of Wisner-Pilger High School. Parents are Mark & Beth Porter of Wisner.
Sydney plans to attend University of Nebraska-Omaha and pursue a degree in Biology/Dentistry.
Melanny Saldana is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents are Rosario Gonzalez &
Roberto Saldana of West Point. Melanny plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in
Criminal Justice.
Lesly Sanchez is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents are Guillermo Sanchez &
Patricia Herrera of West Point. Lesly plans to attend University of Nebraska-Omaha and pursue a degree
in Business Administration.
Dylan Schinstock is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents are Chad & Rachel
Schinstock of West Point. Dylan plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in
Mechanized Agriculture.
Mackinnzie Smidt is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents are Justine Smidt of West
Point. Mackinnzie plans to attend University of Nebraska-Omaha and pursue a degree in Graphic Design
Addison Toelle is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents are Bruce and Deanne Toelle
of West Point. Addison plans to attend University of Nebraska-Lincoln and pursue a degree in Business
Finance.
Andrew Wiese Jr. is a graduate of Bancroft-Rosalie Community Schools. Parents are Karen Wiese &
Andy Wiese of Bancroft. Andrew plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Computer
Science.

ARC in Memory of Hattie Janecek-Career in Special Education ($500)

The applicant must plan on obtaining a college degree which includes a Special Education Endorsement and must be a successful graduate of a Cuming County High School.

Special Education ARC – Elkhorn Valley Scholarship

Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a Cuming County High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking to obtain a certificate of program completion, an associate degree from an accredited junior college, or attend an accredited college or university of their choice.

Allison Roeber Memorial Scholarship($500)

Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point Area High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking continued education at a university, college, or technical school of applicant’s choice and pursuing a degree in the field of Child Protection.

  2. Law Enforcement
  3. Social Work
  4. Elementary Teacher
  5. Any other child protection education

Each scholarship has a value of $500. Seven scholarships were awarded. The Allison Roeber Scholarships are endowed with money from the Allison Pathway Fund and the Lester Fuhrman Estate. The scholarships are designed to help further area students’ education in a field of study that will be benefiting or helping children.

Mia Hunke is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents are Holly & Jeremy Hunke of West
Point. Mia plans to attend University of Nebraska-Kearney and pursue a degree in Nursing.
Allie Kaup is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents are Jamie & Dustin Kaup of West
Point. Allie plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
Navaeh Weborg is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents are Tyler & Rebecca Weborg
of West Point. Navaeh plans to attend Bryan College of Health Sciences and pursue a degree in Nursing.
Kennedy Baumert is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents are Kara & Corey
Baumert of West Point. Kennedy plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in PreNursing.

Dahlia Hernandez is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents are Maria Edeza of
Beemer. Dahlia plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Elementary Education.

Lindberg Northeast Community College Scholarship ($500)

Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking continued education at Northeast Community College as a full-time student. Scholarship value is $500.00.

ZaraNae Torres is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents are Christine & Alberto
Torres of West Point. ZaraNae plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in
Business /Marketing, Graphic Design.

The Russ Herman Memorial Journalism Scholarship

Applicant must be a current graduating senior who is attending a West Point High School that is approved and accredited by the State Department of Education. Applicant must be seeking continued education at a university, college, or technical school of applicant’s choice and pursing a degree in the field of Journalism.

Melanie Quinones is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents are Avdelino Socoy &
Carmen Socoy of West Point. Melanie plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Mass
Communication/Journalism.
